the unexpected comfort of a sick day
I woke up this morning not wanting to go to work. I'm still sick. In fact, I woke up with swollen eyes due to all the nose blowing throughout the night.
I got to work a bit early, and started to go through all the paperwork. I got everything done in two hours, but those two hours felt like the longest two hours of my life. Once I finished, I emailed my boss and my other colleague to let them know I was going to take the rest of the day off.
I decided to stop at mom's to pick up a package—shoes I had ordered a few days ago had been delivered over the weekend. I figured since I was close enough, that I'd just pick them up. They are a lovely pair of slingbacks. They look super cute on me too. I'm not bragging, but I am.
I didn't stay for more than five minutes. I just grabbed the shoes and skedaddled. I wanted to get home. Change into my comfy clothes and snuggle under a warm blanket. When I finally got home that is exactly what I did.
I took a nap and when I woke up, I felt like watching a good tv series. I scanned Netflix and found a K-Drama that caught my attention. I'm not into K-Dramas (at all) even though my mother, my sister, and my cousins are all fans. Yet, this one seemed like a good choice. Mind you, I was contemplating if I should even watch it. It's a sensitive topic, and I didn't want to be triggered by the content.
So far, it's pretty good. I watched two episodes and then decided to stop because I really wanted to binge the entire series. My mom says K-Dramas can be addictive. Thank goodness I work tomorrow and that I have self-control.
